Introduction
On December 18th, 2019, the federal appeals court panel ruled that the Affordable Care Act’s individual mandate should be taken as being unconstitutional due to the fact that the congress had set the mandate tax penalty to zero. The case was sent back to the lower court to determine how many provisions of the affordable care Act was going to be overturned. It was also argued by the republican attorneys under instructions from President Donald Trump that the affordable care act was not severable from the mandate meaning that this is invalidated (KFF, 2020). However, the main challenge is how these changes will affect healthcare practice in various aspects.

When looking at the nursing practitioner, for example, the changes in affordable care Act is going to affect the demand for registered nurse because often their country has been experiencing the shortage of nurse for more than a decade, however, with the affordable care act, the demand has even become greater. With the changes in regulations, it means that the profession is bound to continue growing since hospitals will look at employing nurse who can be able to perform other roles so as to fill up the gap in regard to compensation. The average pay projection for nurses will also be tied to the nurse and patient ratio since there is bound to be more need for nurses in the hospital and private care settings (KFF, 2020). There is however going to be a problem when it comes to nurse and patient ratio since compensation of nurses will be altered to meet only those that are covered by the hospital. This will lead to additional pay burden in the hospitals to care for the increasing number of patients and those already under care. In regard to the changes in the Affordable Care Act, I think that the country is headed in the wrong direction and this should not be accepted since individual options removal means more people that cannot afford private insurance are going to suffer.
